CERTIFICATES OF EXCELLENCE – NOVEMBER
At the end of every month each class teacher has a very difficult decision to face. They have to choose the one person from their class to receive a Certificate of Excellence. The person they choose has to consistently be the best that he or she can be. That could be in effort and attitude, achievement, behaviour or citizenship. Sometimes it can be very difficult deciding as all of the children at Newbridge seem to work so hard and behave so well!

The people with their names up here this month deserve congratulating. It is not easy to be awarded a Certificate of Excellence and they have done extremely well.

YEAR 4 VISIT - BUDDY THE DOG
On Wednesday 14th November the whole of Year 4 went to the bottom playground to see a demonstration of dog handling. PC Williams, the dog handler, brought his dog Buddy to show the children how Buddy finds dangerous pieces of equipment.
Pieces of a gun were hidden around the playground and Buddy easily returned them. When Buddy finds something he is trained to stand still and not touch it and wait for PC Williams. PC Williams then showed how Buddy was rewarded with his favourite toy, a tennis ball, for finding pieces of equipment.
Harry from 4P said, "It was amazing how the dog smelt the gun parts out."
Overall it was a fantastic lesson on dog handling and everyone really enjoyed it.
